Welcome to another school year. We are off to a good start with our technology. Please view our new web page and let me know if there are any suggestions you have. It is a project that will be under construction for the year. We will be making changes as we go.
Our upstairs and Bartow Lab are both almost ready for the students to use. A change this year is that the students from K-3 will use the Bartow Lab and grades 4-8 will use the upstairs lab for their computer classes. Hopefully this allows both labs to get more use for projects.
Students in grades 6-8 will be allowed to use laptops during their library time. This should give more students the ability to have a computer available during this time for use to do homework.
Future projects are to make the 300 floor wireless and to increase the bandwidth in the building. We also are enrolling all of out students in grades 1-6 in the Scholastic Reading Counts Program. This should start in early September. Students in grades 6-8 will be using Google Apps for Education. This will give them the ability to create documents both at home and at school and be able to access them wherever they are as long as they have internet access.
We would like to thank Century Link for the donation of Flash Drives. Each of our 6th grade students will be given a flash drive to use for the next three years. These will be given to the students in early September and are their responsibility to keep. If they should lose their first one they would have to purchase one through school for $8.
